With Storm Dennis continuing and more heavy rain expected, remember that flood warnings across the country can be viewed on one.network.

Over 90 flood warnings have been have communicated today on one.network across 15 Highway Authorities, improving awareness for emergency services and the travelling public and helping them to react accordingly.

In Worcestershire, one of the areas worse effected by the recent extreme weather with the River Severn busting its banks, Worcestershire County Council (WCC) have been using the Traffic Management module and one.network map to detail flood activity.

Ed Dursley, Events & Open Highway Network Manager at WCC, commented,

“In Worcestershire we have been using one.network to help show the location of floods via the Traffic Management service and linking the road closed information for the benefit of the travelling public and to improve the associated information to sat-navs. one.network has been used alongside our other communication channels including our Worcestershire Highways twitter account and our Worcestershire County Council website for maximum reach.”
