Elgin is now able to offer operational users in Scotland a unique view of live congestion related to active roadworks via our Real-Time Map, providing a unique dashboard of works causing unusually severe congestion. Another service which is now available to Scottish road authorities is the ability to influence driver behaviour via real-time management of road closure information and syndication into sat-nav services such as Google Maps using Traffic Management App.

Angus Carmichael, Scottish Road Works Commissioner, commented,

“roadworks.org is taking advantage of the Scottish Road Works Commissioner’s new open data service. A daily feed of current roadworks and access to historic roadworks data, allows them to build services and products using this public data. The data is provided from the Scottish Road Works Register, which is a statutory record of all qualifying roadworks undertaken across Scotland from Dumfries and Galloway to Shetland. I look forward to future developments which assist journey planning.”
